2021 Vermont City Marathon:

Running For Coffee Farmers

Celebrate our 10th anniversary by supporting the Food 4 Farmers team!

Vermont City Marathon

Sunday, October 24, 2021

Most high quality coffee we enjoy is grown by small-scale coffee farmers. Coffee is usually their main – or only – source of income. Low coffee prices, rising food prices, and the effects of climate change prevent them from earning enough to feed their families year round. As a result, families face months of hunger and food insecurity — every year.
We’ve been working with coffee farming families and their communities in Latin America since 2011 to help them overcome the “Thin Months” of seasonal hunger. We’re now partnering with coffee cooperatives in Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, and Nicaragua, representing more than 8,400 farming families, to build long-term solutions to hunger. We coach and connect coffee farmers and cooperatives with the expertise they need to grow healthy food and diversify income, while developing the tools, knowledge, and resources so they can sustain the work independently.

You can help.

This year, our goal is to raise $10,000. Make a donation to sponsor a member of our team — or the entire team. Click on the MAKE A DONATION button on this page, and choose either option on the donation form.  Or, mail your donation check to Food 4 Farmers, 523 Isham Road, Hinesburg, VT 05461.
Every donor will be entered into a raffle to win a fabulous gift basket of chocolates, coffee, Vermont maple syrup, honey, and a coffee fiber performance tee.
You can also spread the word about our work, using the power of your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn networks.  Share our story and invite others to get involved.
If you’d like more information, contact Janice Nadworny at janice@food4farmers.org, or call 802 497-3304.

Since 2011, we’ve partnered with coffee farmers and their communities in Latin America to overcome the “Thin Months” of seasonal hunger. Most high quality coffee we enjoy is grown by millions of smallholder coffee farmers. Coffee is also their main – or only – source of income. Year after year low coffee prices, rising food prices, and the effects of climate change prevent coffee farmers from earning enough to feed their families all year long.
We’re working with coffee cooperatives in Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico, and Nicaragua, representing more than 3,000 families to build long-term solutions to hunger. We coach and connect coffee farmers and cooperatives with the expertise they need to implement effective, sustainable strategies to grow healthy food and diversify income, while making sure they have the right resources to thrive independently.

How you can help:
